Aquatic Life is a very niche area of the Animals, Plants, & Nature category! Photographs found in this gallery consists of living creatures or other organisms that spend most if not all of their time underwater. This can mean you'll see photos of fish and whales but perhaps also penguins and seals! Depending on their location, Aquatic Life photographers face a lot of unique challenges, such as trying to photograph these colorful creatures through aquarium glass or trying to avoid the spray of the water when photographing near an ocean. This category, while one of the quieter subsets of APN, can truly be a treat for the senses!

Birds Photography is one of the busier subcategories of APN, but is still a very small community. These photographers capture anything from eggs in a nest to diving hawks searching for a meal. You might see some crossover from the Domesticated Animals category if someone photographs a pet bird or the Wild Animals category is someone is shooting an eagle surveying the area from a high branch. These photographers have to be quick on their feet (and quick on the shutter!) to capture sharp, clear images of these amazing animals!

The Rules:

• Deviants may submit only one photograph to the contest. You must be a member of AnimalsPlantsNature to enter but anyone is welcome to join!
  
  
• The deviation must be no older than February 1, 2017 (we want to see your newer work!)
  
  
• The deviation must be from the Animals, Plants, & Nature--> Aquatic Life or Birds category only!
  
  
• The main subject of the piece should reflect the category.
  
  
• No photomanipulations. _{For the purposes of our contests, a photomanipulation is considered a deviation that has components from more than one file in it.}
  
  
• Submissions are open until Saturday, March 25th at 11:59 pm PST.
