Busy Busy!
Well it's been a crazy busy weekend so far but all fun stuff. I say "so far" because I don't have to work tomorrow (THANK YOU COLUMBUS! ). Quick recap... I housesat for a friend's aunt Thursday to Saturday. Over this time I started thinking about trying out something new, art-wise. I've been a photographer for over ten years. I've tried my hand at pencil sketching a couple times but I never really took to it. I have many torn drawings sitting in landfills
So, I decided I would pick up watercolor. I haven't painted since elementary school art class. I do not consider myself at all skilled with traditional medium. So, why watercolor? NO IDEA! Except for the fact that my favorite traditional pieces on deviantART always seem to be watercolor. I find them so delicate and pretty. I went to our local Michael's craft store and picked up some watercolor paint, brushes, and paper. Then I got to work! I watched a couple YouTube videos, read some guides on technique and got busy.
I tried a gradient square, lifting paint, messed around with a couple of the brushes. Then I painted an autumn tree And... It kinda looks like a tree. So HOORAY!
Then Sunday morning I woke up nice and early (there was FROST on my windshield this morning ) and had my first photo shoot. It went... REALLY WELL! I was pretty nervous. I told all of you that I was mostly excited but I was mainly saying that to convince myself. The shoot was for my old college's roommates engagement photos with her fiance. We went to a beautiful spot in Rochester, MA with old stone walls, big fields, and plenty of foliage. I edited a handful of them tonight and can't wait to do more tomorrow!
So, after the shoot I came home and decided to try another watercolor painting. I had no idea what to do... Thank god for google! Gave me the idea to paint this:
Not half bad! I kinda like how the moon came out
Anyway enough about me... There's a feature to get to.

This past week I asked deviants to send me their MOON deviations to celebrate the eclipse I got some great responses. Check them out!Silver Reign Eternal
I rule the Other. I rule the night.
I rule the Darkness with my light.
I rule the tides of the sea.
I rule the parts that others don't see.
I am Heaven's mirror, reflecting all.
I am the Silver Siren, born to enthrall.
I am an Eternal. I am constantly ever changing.
I am young and old. I am waxing and waning.
